How to get everything you desire in 2022
Hey what’s up boss?!
2022 is coming and it’s time to level up! That’s why it’s imperative that we have our goals at the forefront of our minds.
Many of us have been disappointed in ourselves after making a bunch of lofty resolutions, and then weeks later, or even sometimes days later, we let them fall to the wayside.
This year is going to be different, because I’ll show you the steps you need to take in order to keep your enthusiasm and persistence strong enough so you can achieve everything you desire.
Step 1: Gather your tools.
To get started, you will need a pen, a blank notebook, and a day planner.
Make sure the notebook doesn’t have anything else in it, because you need to be able to completely focus on your goals. All of these things can be found in the dollar store, so we are not making excuses on this.
To be clear, goals are not the same as daily tasks. You might be wondering what the difference is so I will give you an explanation, followed by some examples.
Your goals are the realization of your deepest desires, whereas tasks are action steps required to make those dreams a reality.
Imagine a jigsaw puzzle; your goal is to complete the puzzle in order to enjoy the bigger picture, but to do so you first need to complete certain tasks. The tasks might include sorting the edge pieces, flipping the pieces face up, and then setting each piece one by one. Of course, there are many other ways to complete a puzzle, just like there are many different ways to complete a goal. The actions you take to complete a goal may change, whereas the goal remains the same no matter what.
If you don’t reflect on your goals every single day you will lose focus, and spend your whole life being used to achieve someone else’s goals.
Step 2: Determine what you truly desire.
Allow yourself to really dream for a moment, without giving in to any doubts or fears. Keep in mind, we are setting goals, not making excuses. You might need to take some time to think about this one.
Your goals have to be big and even a little scary. The bigger the better, because deep down inside, you know you were put on this earth do something huge. It doesn’t matter if your dreams seem impossible, just write them down, and become clear on what they are. The fact that you were even conceived actually defies all probabilities and yet, here you are.
And let’s be real here, right now you are not reaching your full potential and it hurts! Let’s move out of a place of regret and into a place of success. Let’s get up while we still can and create the life of our dreams.
Now it’s time use that beautiful imagination of yours! Close your eyes, and visualize yourself living that dream, try to feel the sensations; what sounds do you hear? Any smells? Let’s say you want to be a best selling author. Then you must imagine the book on your bookshelf. Is your photo on it? Now imagine picking it up, how heavy is it? Sniff the paper and enjoy the sweet woody scent. Feel the pride and gratitude for your accomplishment. You want to stay in this feeling as long as you can, as this is the vibration you need to be in to attract what it is you truly want.
Step 3: Write your goals down.
Write your goals down every single day. Your goals need to be at the top of your mind so that no one and nothing can distract you. If you don’t reflect on your goals every single day you will lose focus, and spend your whole life being used to achieve someone else’s goals. As you write your goals down, practice your visualization exercise like I described in the previous step. This is where you will generate the energy you need to keep you pushing day after day.
In order to stay focussed, make sure your goals go in the goal book, and tasks go in the day planner. The reason is that if you write your goals like, "I am a Juno award winner" beside tasks such as, "dentist appointment," and "change cat litter," your goals will start to feel like chores, and you will be far less motivated to work toward them each day. Your goals are sacred and beautiful and deserve their very own place.
Even if you only complete some of the tasks, remember you are doing far more than you would have if you never wrote anything down.
Step 4: Start taking action.
Reasonably speaking, you won’t be able to predict every step necessary in completing your goals, as is the case with getting to any destination. You can only see so much of the road ahead, but as you get closer, the way becomes more clear. As you complete more tasks, you will be gifted with the knowledge of the next necessary steps. I often come up with plans during the visualization exercise. Any time you think of a new action plan, enter it into your day planner right away.
Start taking action by getting your tasks done. Even if you only complete some of the tasks, remember you are doing far more than you would have if you never wrote anything down. Commend yourself as you cross each task off when it is completed. This is the proof that you really are getting closer to your desires.
Congratulations, you are now ready to start living the life of your dreams!
